Outline of the role
AMS Consultancy’s Media Agency is looking for a Content Developer based in Doha, Qatar, to join our media team in supporting a major international development foundation. The client has impacted the lives of millions of young people around the world and has many inspiring stories to tell about their work and their global community.
This is a contract role located in Doha, Qatar, working with variable commitment (approximately 24-37.5 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday), from the client’s office in a central location, with a renewable 2-month contract.
This is an exciting and inspiring opportunity for someone with 3+ years of experience in media and communications roles.
As a Content Developer, you will be responsible for supporting the creation and delivery of high-quality bilingual (Arabic and English) content across a range of communication materials, including newsletters, reports, success stories, media briefings, brochures, website content, and other relevant digital and print communications. Much of your work will involve writing and adapting content to engage diverse audiences while ensuring consistency with the client’s messaging and brand tone. Other responsibilities may include stakeholder engagement support, assisting with media plans, contributing to messaging strategy, and providing content development advice. This role requires close collaboration with the client’s senior specialists and AMS senior consultants.
Other relevant tasks may be assigned with prior agreement and confirmed in writing to ensure the successful completion of project objectives. These tasks will be completed with support and input from the team and the client.
Qualifications
- Extremely proficient or bilingual level English and Arabic (spoken and written) is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Journalismor related field.
- 3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or similar field.
- Previous experience with international non-profit or development organisations is essential.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This person never misses a deadline; can respond to changing priorities; is able to prioritise work effectively.
- Skilled user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, and Slides. Experience using AI tools for efficient workflow and media monitoring/distribution platforms is also advantageous.
- Experience developing content for newsletters, reports, case studies, and general communications products. Familiarity with storytelling for impact and donor-focused writing would be an asset.

- Writing skills: You will be creating written products such as press releases, media packs, brochures, and/or web copy. You should be able to distill technical and complex issues in writing for a general audience. You should produce excellent meeting minutes.

Key terms and conditions
- Experience with international development or non-profits is essential.
- 24-37.5 hours average per week.
- Compensation: $2,000-$2,400 per month depending on skills and experience.
- Initial 2-month contract, with the possibility for extension.
- This role works the Qatar working week, i.e. Sunday to Thursday. Availability all day on Sundays is required; other days are flexible.
- The successful candidate is required to be on-call for urgent work that may come up on Fridays and Saturdays. If called upon, the candidate will be able to take time off in lieu to compensate for these hours.
- The working language is English for meetings and emails.
