FREELANCE OPPORTUNITY: Fundraising Specialist – Digital Marketing Ar/Eng based in Doha (Qatar) – July/August 2025

Outline of the role

Our Media Agency is looking for a Fundraising Specialist for Digital Marketing based in Doha, Qatar, to join our media team in supporting a major international development foundation. The client has impacted the lives of millions of young people around the world and has many inspiring stories to tell about their work and their global community.

This is a contract role located in Doha, Qatar, with full time weekly commitment (40 hours, Sunday to Thursday), from the client’s office in a central location, with a renewable 2-month contract based on performance and project needs.

This opportunity is ideal for a creative and driven marketing professional with 3+ years of experience in digital campaigns, content creation, and brand communication. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Arabic and English, and passionate about using digital tools and platforms to create meaningful engagement with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and collaborate with the Communications and Private Sector Partnerships teams to implement digital marketing campaigns across digital donation platforms (social media, email, and website).
  • Provide strategic insights to content developers for bilingual (Arabic and English) content for newsletters, websites, social media posts, digital reports, and promotional materials.
  • Provide strategic insights to adapt existing content to target audiences and optimise messaging for engagement and brand consistency.
  • Monitor and analyse digital performance metrics using Google Analytics and social media insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making through A/B testing and donor journey analysis.
  • Support broader marketing efforts such as media planning, branding alignment, and messaging strategy.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including senior client stakeholders and agency consultants.
  • Ensure timely delivery and high-quality output across all deliverables.
  • Initiate innovative digital fundraising approaches, including micro-donations and recurring giving models.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices for digital fundraising.
  • Proactively identify and implement innovative digital fundraising methods to enhance donor engagement and experience.
  • Offer insights to optimise online donation processes, including improving donation funnels and landing page performance.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends to ensure EAA’s digital fundraising strategies remain competitive and effective.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, with prior agreement, to meet overall project objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  • High proficiency or bilingual level in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is essential. Spanish or French would be an added advantage..
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or a related role.
  • Previous experience with international non-profit or development organisations is essential.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills, especially in donor-centric storytelling and digital campaign messaging.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with tools like MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital platforms such as Mailchimp, Canva, Hootsuite and similar.
  • Experience with data analytics, sentiment monitoring, donor journey mapping or AI-assisted content tools for digital content creation is highly desirable. Familiarity with storytelling for impact and donor-focused content would be an asset.

  • Digital-first mindset: You bring deep knowledge of digital strategies, including SEO, paid social, email marketing, and analytics. You’re comfortable working across platforms and using emerging technologies.
  • Fundraising-focused: You understand the digital donor lifecycle and have experience optimising donation funnels, recurring giving campaigns, and messaging that converts.
  • Data-driven and analytical: You use analytics and donor engagement data to refine content and strategies, track campaign success, and continuously improve outcomes. Experience with A/B testing and audience segmentation is a plus. 
  • Content creation and storytelling: You understand how to tailor and draft messaging to different platforms and demographics in both English and Arabic for a variety of digital formats.
  • Attention to detail: Your work must be flawless with every detail taken care of.

  • Teamwork: You are able to support others and accept help when you need it. Excellent communicator internally as well as externally. 
  • Independent worker: You are able to manage your own workload in an office setting.

Key terms and conditions

  • Experience with international development or non-profits is essential.
  • Consulting role based in Doha, with 40 hours average per week..
  • Compensation: $3,500-$4,000 per month depending on skills and experience.
  • Initial 2-month contract, with the possibility for extension.
  • This role works the Qatar working week, i.e. Sunday to Thursday. Availability all day on Sundays is required; other days are flexible.
  • The successful candidate is required to be on-call for urgent work that may come up on Fridays and Saturdays. If called upon, the candidate will be able to take time off in lieu to compensate for these hours.
  • The working language is English for meetings and emails.
